The captive power plant supplies electrical power to then ferro alloy plant.
The facilities include:
- A gas station to supply natural gas to the gas turbine.
- Two number of gas turbines generators {GTG} of, 1*32MVA and 1*28 MVA capacity.
- Two transformers of 1*30MVA and 1*28Mva which supply power to BAFA.
Two auxiliary transformers of 1*750kVA and 1*315kVA taking into consideration the necessary derating for summer months, the power plant can generate 360millionkwh per annum. The annual energy requirement of the ferroalloy plant for two furnace operation is around 320 million kwh which matches with the power generation from CPP, making the BAFA facilities self sufficient in terms of electrical energy.
